Mein Name ist Baron Collins-Hill und ich habe MandoLessons im Jahr 2008 gegründet. Als ich im Jahr 2000 in einer kleinen Stadt anfing, das Mandolinenspiel zu erlernen, suchte ich Hilfe im Internet. Auf Seiten wie Mandolin Cafe und YouTube konnte ich mir die Informationen zusammenstellen, die ich brauchte, um neue Melodien und Techniken zu lernen und Antworten auf meine Fragen zu finden. MandoLessons ist meine Art, der Gemeinschaft, von der ich so viel gelernt habe, etwas zurückzugeben.

Noah and I learned this great Swedish tune independently from one another. It’s a tune with high and low points, with drama and sensitivity. When we realized we both knew it, we knew it had to go on the album!

This is a tune of Noah's that he taught me at Maine Fiddle Camp, and it's one of my favorites! I love tunes in the key of E, and this one is right up my alley!

"Fine Times At Our House," the title track from our debut album, is a classic old-time tune that's been begging for a double mandolin rendition since the dawn of time. To get the tune off the ground, Noah and I play it as a jig, and then (spoiler alert) leap into a no-holds-barred, full-speed-ahead strumming fest, nearly smashing our mandolins to smithereens.
