Whether you hear him play Bluegrass music with the incredible Swedish Bluegrass band G2, or jazz music with the highly acclaimed guitar player Emil Ernebro, Erik displays an effortless authenticity and mastery. Additionally, Erik has made music with a variety of Swedish artists and musicians throughout the years including: Tomas Andersson Wij, Sofia Karlsson, Daniel Lemma, Bo Kaspers Orkester, Frida Öhrn. Recently he played on an album was nominated for a Grammy, Trolska skogen, ”Spår av musik”
Here Erik tells us a bit about this video, "I thought I might share some Swedish traditional style of music. First tune is called Solitune and it’s an original tune. The second one is called Ranungspolska No 1, written by Erik Öst. The mandolin I’m playing is built by Thomas Fredholm, Swedish luthier"

So happy to share this video! Staffan Astner (in the middle) began to play guitar at the age of 9 and has played on hundreds of albums and toured around the world. Some of the artists Astner has toured or recorded with includes Ricardo Arjona, Sting, Ray Charles, Celine Dion, Ruthie Foster, Richard Page, Marie Fredriksson, Frida(Abba), Martha and the Vandellas, Barbara Hendricks, Ian Hunter, James Ingram, Roxette, Westlife. Astner has also played on tv-shows and movies including The Princes And The Frog, Glee, House and the the Emmy awards.
Erik Igelström is one of the greatest mandolin players in Sweden, and he plays everything from bluegrass to Swedish folk music and jazz - AND he’s one of my best friends! :)

May 16, 2021 - yay!!! New album "Coming Home" released... Skyland Special quickly became my favorite track, much because of the added performances of Sweden´s finest - Emil Ernebro and Erik Igelström. Dang, what a treat :D
