Ich spiele Mandoline, seit ich 4 Jahre alt bin, mit Alex Timmerman als meinem Lehrer. Im Jahr 2016 schloss ich das Masterstudium am ArtEZ-Konservatorium Zwolle ab, ebenfalls bei Alex.
Während des Studiums gewann ich den Princess Christina Wettbewerb (ein niederländischer Wettbewerb für alle Instrumente) und den Concorso Raffaele Calace für Mandoline in Campobasso, Italien. Mit meinem Duo Mandoline&Harfe habe ich 2015 den Tristan Keuris Wettbewerb für Kammermusikensembles gewonnen.

Ich habe gelernt, den Liuto Cantabile als wichtiges Nebeninstrument der Mandolinenfamilie zu spielen und habe mir einen nagelneuen Liuto von der berühmten Calace Liuteria in Neapel gekauft.
Da ich heute viel auf dem Liuto Cantabile spiele, betrachte ich mich als halb Mandolinist / halb Liuto Cantabile-Spieler.

Während meines Studiums habe ich mich zu einem vielseitigen Kammermusiker und Solisten entwickelt. Ich habe alle Arten von Kooperationen gehabt, zuerst mit anderen Preisträgern des Prinzessin-Christina-Wettbewerbs, später in verschiedenen Zusammenhängen. Die kontinuierlichsten sind die Mitgliedschaft im Nieuw Ensemble für zeitgenössische klassische Musik, das Mandolinen-Harfen-Duo 'Duo Corelli' mit der Harfenistin Suzanne Zijderveld und die Mitgliedschaft im professionellen Mandolinenkammerorchester Chordofonia. Außerdem spiele ich häufig in professionellen Orchestern, vor allem in den Niederlanden, wenn eine Mandolinenstimme benötigt wird. Seit 2006 bin ich Mitglied von Het CONSORT, einem sehr aktiven (auch auf YouTube) Mandolinenkammerorchester unter der Leitung von Alex Timmerman.

 

I've played the mandolin since I've been 4 years old with Alex Timmerman as my teacher. In 2016 I completed the conservatorium master's degree at the ArtEZ conservatorium Zwolle, also with Alex.

During studies, I won the Princess Christina Competition (a Dutch competition for all instruments) and the Concorso Raffaele Calace for mandolin in Campobasso, Italy. With my mandolin&harp duo I won the Tristan Keuris competition for chamber music ensembles in 2015.

 

I learned to play the liuto cantabile as a very important side instrument in the mandolin family and got myself a brand new liuto from the famous Calace liuteria in Naples.

Because I play a lot on the liuto cantabile nowadays, I regard myself as half mandolinist / half liuto cantabile player. 

 

During my studies, I developed as an all-round chamber musician and soloist. I've had all kinds of cooperations, first with other Princess Christina Competition winners, later in various settings. The most continuous being the membership of the Nieuw Ensemble, for contemporary classical music; a mandolin&harp duo 'Duo Corelli' with harpist Suzanne Zijderveld, and membership of the professional mandolin chamber orchestra Chordofonia. And I also do a lot of stand-ins in professional orchestras, mostly in the Netherlands, when a mandolin part is required. Since 2006 I'm a member of Het CONSORT, a very active (also on YouTube) mandolin chamber orchestra conducted by Alex Timmerman.
